If you have been trained to apply a tourniquet – you know it will be going on TIGHT. The velco straps of this tourniquet make this easy, and the polymer windlass seems like it would allow you to get it as tight as you would need. It is also nice to have the flag for recording the time (made of the same velcro – not paper like it looks like in the picture). This really is a great reminder to do this – and keeps people from thinking the best way to record the time is to write it on your forehead in blood (I would have words with anyone who did that to me).

All in all – a great life saving item that is good to have “just in case”. Put one in your patrol bag, range bag, and camping bag. A major bleed is not the time to wish you had one.
