I am new to the world of nasal cannulas. Following a more than weeklong hospitalization for severe pneumonia, I have been sent home on constant oxygen with a nasal cannula. I realized that I needed to get more of the cannuals (as cleaning the beasts seem to be beyond my skill level at the moment.) I found these on Amazon with the same fit and length of the Salter 1600 that I had been using.
I ordered and tried them as they arrived the next day (yes, I got five but be sure to order from the more reputable sellers here with higher ratings even if the price is higher.)
I noticed a chemical smell that disappeared fairly quickly. Everything connected well and seemed to be functioning great. The product is quality with a soft feel. However, about a half hour in, I noticed a pressure or rubbing up high inside of one of my nostrils. Over the next hour, it became uncomfortable enough to change back to my Salter.
In changing back, I noticed a couple of small things that escaped my initial view of the product. One, the length of the nostril tubes are longer than my other. Two, the horizontal spacing of those tubes were slightly wider.
I realized the problem lay with the physical aspects of my nose – I simply don’t have enough nose for this product. By going higher and wider into my nostril, the tubing had nowhere to go on me but into nose tissue. I am back to my Salter but would still recommend these to anyone who has a longer or wider nose than mine. While that may seem a silly statement, I think those of us with smaller noses know who we are.

I started on 24/7 oxygen right after Christmas 2024. My provider gave me some hard plastic cannulas that felt miserable. My ears hurt and there was a hissing noise in my right nostril. I looked on Amazon and found these and they’re wonderful. Light weight and no hissing. I can’t recommend a product more. They may have latex in the cannula, so make sure that agrees with you. If I could give them 10 stars I would.

These are great! Soft & comfortable but not flimsy. I didn’t notice any smell that some other reviews mention. It was good to as soon as I opened the package. Definitely recommend.
