I bought these “socks” for my mother. She is 76 and has very fragile skin. During her recovery from a broken hip, the bruises and tears were becoming a serious issue on her lower legs. Compression socks were either uncomfortable, too thin, or too loose. I found these when I made my search more specifically “protective.” I ordered a medium. My mother wears a 4/6 in pants. She’s about 5’4″ and weighs 116 pounds. They look really small in the package, but they have just the right amount of stretch. As soon as she tried them on, she said she wanted two more pairs. She said she hasn’t had a bump to test their effectiveness against wounds yet, but just wearing them makes her more mindful and feel safer. That’s what I wanted.

This is a good product – although over-priced for what you get. It is just a sleeve with a cut where the heel goes. I am allergic to tape and I have leg ulcers so I use this sock to hold the bandages in place. I sometimes use it under my compression socks but it is hard to keep the part that goes on the bottom of the foot from rolling. I always wear it at night when I don’t have my compression socks on. It is cool and comfortable and stays in place pretty good. Much better than tape!! I have ordered a smaller size as they do stretch out after a few uses. Also, the swelling in my leg has gone down so the sock is fitting more loosely. I would recommend this product as a skin protector and to hold bandages in place.

I’m reviewing both. I love the white ones. They’re comfortable, soft, and stay in place. I got them to keep gauze in place and keep from irritating my legs when I sleep. I then got the beige ones because of the color. I wanted to like them but they’re scratchy and became uncomfortable. I tried using more gauze but it wasn’t really helping. I totally recommend the white ones. I ordered another pair.
