A friend loaned me hear knee ice machine after I had my knee surgery, and having used hers for a few days decided I needed my own, so I bought this one based on reviews.
Cooling capacity wise, it’s smaller than the one my friend loaned me, however it’s more insulated than hers was, so it stays cold longer. For best results, I froze several bottles of used Gatorade bottles, with water and use them instead of ice. WORKS GREAT!

My husband had rotator cuff surgery 5 days ago. We were advised icing his shoulder would be helpful for controlling swelling and pain. Several friends have had this surgery and related significant pain afterwards so we expected a challenge. We bought this Ice Therapy Machine based on positive reviews and reasonable cost. We started using it immediately once we were home and also took a chance on using OTC pain meds with it instead of the prescribed narcotic since my husband did not tolerate narcotics given for a previous surgery. I know pain is a personally experienced issue so this is no way a criticism of prescription pain meds but for us – I am convinced this ice machine was a game changer for my husband in his pain control! We have used it nearly continuously these past 5 days.
